| Randy Vanderveen's Message: |
I just returned from a two week mission trip in Rwanda, with two other members of my church (including my wife) and seven members from another area church. The country and the people are both beautiful and I would return in a heartbeat. The two local churches have a partnership with a church and school in the southern province of Rwanda between Nyanza and Butare. We spent time visiting HIV patients, orphan and vulnerable children households, seeing the work being done by the Guardians of Hope, which supports HIV positive and AIDS-infected people and helps them to support themselves financially by making traditional crafts or farming. We also installed some solar powered-lighting in the pastor's house, spent time with the students at the secondary school. In short we spent two weeks building relationships and working on going beyond a partnership to friendship and fellowship with our Rwandan brothers and sisters.
